Introspective Dreamscapes
In this series, I envision the introspective process as a journey across a dream landscape, or "introspective dreamscape." Whether traversing soft clouds of gentle reflection or rocky ridges of an emotionally challenging time, I attempt to capture the unique terrain of each experience. Through this process, I have learned that to understand our current selves, it often takes some "digging" or "spelunking" into the crevices of our minds - a recurring theme throughout this series.
About the Art/Word Style
My personal style, "Art/Word", grew out of a practice over the years combining drawing and journaling.
The process:
1. I typically start out with a swirl of lines - a quick, spontaneous expression.
2. Within these lines, I begin to lay out words - the lines serves as a nest for those initial, vulnerable thoughts that can sometimes feel too personal to put to paper.
3. These reflections eventually grow and are joined by drawings - related in theme, or simply an image that pops into my head.
4. This drawing will then prompt further written thoughts and reflections.
5. Through this iterative process, a story or theme eventually appears, tying together the final piece.
